Meet Our Team!
Shawn Stacy
My name is Shawn Stacy. I have been with OCFA since 2009 and a Firefighter since 2004. I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home my whole life. My family attended Saddleback Church growing up where I was involved in High school ministry there. After finishing my Fire Tech classes at Santa Ana College I moved to the mountains in 2002. Between the years of 2001 to 2004 I had some “prodigal times” and my Faith was lacking and I was living by my wants and not by God’s will. I was blessed with an amazing wife (Jennifer), a daughter (Taylor) and son (Shane) that brought my faith back, but still not fully surrendered to God and His will for my life.
In 2020 the Holy Spirit completely overcame me and brought me back home to a Christ centered life. Since then I have been so amazingly blessed to discover my Life’s mission to be a part of the Firefighters for Christ Ministry. Since July 2025 I have been the Chapter lead for our FFC OC Fire. Firefighters for Christ has been such an amazing ministry to be a part of. I think we as firefighters have a unique lifestyle with our schedules, the calls we go on and the crews we work together with. I believe connecting with our Faith through these difficult situations is something we can relate to one another so well.
I love the verse FFC International highlights in Hebrews 10:24-25, “ 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” I want us as Firefighters here at the OCFA to be able to be open and real with one another about our walk with Christ and the trials that come with it. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or anyone of our chapter leaders if you need prayer or support in any way. God Bless!

Reason why you're involved with FFC/What it does for your walk with God: to encourage others to pursue Jesus in all aspects of life. I get filled by spending time with other believers, digging into Scripture, and sharing the good news of the Gospel with those that may not know the Lord yet
Nathan Arellano
I have been in the fire service since 1994, when I started as a volunteer firefighter in Riverside County. While I was raised in a Christian home, my faith became personal and real to me in my mid-twenties. My wife and I recently switched churches and are attending Saddleback Covenant Church in Mission Viejo.
I am actively involved with Firefighters for Christ because I believe the only lasting legacy we leave is the impact we have on people—our families, coworkers, neighbors, friends, and communities. Careers, accomplishments, and possessions eventually fade, but the influence we have on others and for Christ endures. My desire is to live out my faith and share the hope of Christ with as many of our brothers as sisters as possible.
Tim Stuart
Hello, I am Tim Stuart and I was born again and baptized in 2001 when I received Jesus Christ to become my Lord and Savior.
After that, I began pursuing a career in the fire service and was hired at OCFA in 2011 after working at Escondido FD for approximately 1 year.
My wife Keeli and I attend Beach Cities Church in Huntington Beach. We live in Costa Mesa and have 3 kids: Wyatt, Raelyn, and Eden.
We love to Surf, Fish, train Jiujitsu, travel, camp, and our kids play lots of sports, including rugby, soccer, and swimming. I’m involved with Firefighters For Christ because I believe that is the best way to spread the gospel in the fire service, one brother and sister at a time.
If you have questions about what it means to have a relationship with Jesus, please reach out to me. If I can’t answer a question you may have, we can figure it out together!

6 years as firefighter, 4 with OCFA
Been a Christian since I was in elementary school. Definitely took a pause in my faith between 18-23years of age. Reengaged as an adult around 25. Been growing as a Christian and believer for last 10 years
Attend Zion Church in San Clemente
Love the FFC ministry. Such a cool and powerful way to bridge the gap between my relationship with God and my workplace. It’s been amazing connecting with co workers and diving into gods word together. It’s also so inspiring witnessing the growth of this ministry and its impact on our department and beyond!
FFC has definitely strengthened my relationship with God. It’s a way to be in the word during the week, separate from normal church on Sunday. It’s amazing connecting with co workers who are going thru the same stuff that I am. The connections are unreal. Also during small groups we take intentional time to pray for each other.
With the bigger events it’s been cool meeting families and “doing life together”. my wife and kids love the doheny bbq hangs!
Rob Rugen
10 years in the fire service, 4 at OCFA. Currently assigned to 86C in Battalion 11.
I go to Mission Bible Church in Costa Mesa (Tony Wood is the MAN)
I was raised in the church, so I’ve always had some level of faith, but I didn’t truly understand the gospel and Gods grace until I was 16. I was in youth ministry in my 20’s for four years before I decided to pursue the fire service.
FFC has been a game changer for my faith. When I got into the fire service, I felt like I was the only Christian at my department. I became very isolated, went through a very dark season, and battled with sin and a lot of doubts. The Lord has since redeemed my life and given me a deeper love for Jesus and desire to share the gospel than ever before. The term “iron sharpens iron” could not be more real in my life and the effect FFC has had on my walk with the Lord. Having a community of like-minded men in the fire house has been a huge answer to prayer.

Reason why your involved with FFC/What it does for your walk with God: When joining OCFA, I didn't know anything about FFC or that we had a chapter, but when I learned about it and that we needed more volunteers, I jumped right in. And what a great decision that has been! Writing devotionals for our weekly small groups has challenged me to dig deeper into scripture and to learn much more in depth about stories I've previously thought I understood.
